Licensed Mariage & Family Therapist

Therapy for Individuals, Couples, & Families

I have a private practice in Sausalito, California. My clinical orientation is Existential Integrative psychotherapies, and I am highly influenced by depth, object relations, somatic, and arts based therapies. I work well with people who struggle with parasuicidal behaviors such as cutting, eating disorders, substance abuse recovery, and other risky behaviors. I also work well with people with personality disorders and psychotic disorders. However, I have worked with a diverse client population. I can be reached at 415-328-4575, and people can read more about me on my website.

More About My Practice

I specialize in working with adults, families with young children, treatment of chronic/acute mental health challenges, adoption/foster care challenges, the geriatric population, dual diagnosis, developmental and situational trauma, grief and loss, people experiencing homelessness, & people exposed to high levels of poverty, domestic, & community violence. I have a high success rate working with people who are dealing with symptoms of psychosis. I have a special interest in interventions that utilize the creative arts, somatic methods, & existential/humanistic orientations.

I also provide mental health consulation to preschools and infant toddler centers.  I have over 15 years experience in Early Childhood Education as a teacher, director, and county mentor.  Some of my experience is in the design of programs for children who have experienced trauma and need extra support.

I believe that the ultimate healing factor in therapy is the relationship developed between client and therapist. I am integrative in my approach, and feel that therapeutic style should be individualized to honor the context of a person's life and growing edges, as well as a person's strengths.
I have invested a great deal into my own growth as a person, and believe that this has helped me relate well to my clients on a human level, beyond the implicit power differential of the professional relationship. We all have challenges in life to overcome, and my role as therapist is to help clients become present, courageous, and compassionate enough in their own lives to not only face their challenges with honest humility, but to also help clients find ways to improve their quality of life, increasing enjoyment of themselves, their personal encounters with others, and local/global community.
